File menu saving and loading

Current map information

The "About current map" option in the File menu will pop up a window giving information about the current map. An example is shown in the Figure 1. If you have completed the map, the number of moves you took is shown. Less information will be given for external maps sets.

Saving the current map position

The "Save map position" option in the File menu saves enough information about the current map and the moves made to enable the position to be recreated at a later time. An example file is shown in Figure 2. The user supplies a file name via a file opening dialogue box.

Reloading a previous map position

The "Read saved map position" option in the File menu requests the user to supply the name of a saved file (as in Figure 2.). The program will perform an animation to automatically reach the saved position. Note that it is assumed that the map named in the file currently exists in the program's map set: i.e. is a built-in map or has been pre-loaded from an external map set.

Show my solution

If you have solved the current map the File menu option "Show my solution" will be active, otherwise it will be greyed out. If the option is selected the program will fetch your solution from your results database and perform an animation of your moves.
